Research Interest

My research interests range over a variety of fields:
1. Implementation science
2. Quality improvements in healthcare
3. One Health and Inclusivity
4. Nursing & Medical practice
5. Nursing & Medical education
6. Neonate, Child & Adolescent Health

Implementation science ensures that evidence-based interventions and practices achieve what they were intended, or originally designed for. Conduct research to identify implementation bottlenecks and best strategies to facilitate the uptake of evidence-based practices in real-world settings, both medical and nursing education and practice.

Medical and Nursing Education: to improve teaching and learning strategies in nursing and medical education. Conduct research focusing on topics related to e-learning, blended learning, curriculum development, student performance assessment, scholarship, and preceptorship.

Maternal and child health aims to ensure that women, children, and adolescents receive high-quality health care. Conduct research focusing on topics related to women’s health, childbirth, pediatric nursing, and identifying or designing innovative solutions geared towards addressing the health needs of these special or vulnerable groups

Healthcare systems and organizations aimed to empower leadership in the medical and nursing profession and foster a stronger healthcare workforce. Conduct research focusing on topics related to nursing staffing and leadership, healthcare workforce, quality improvement, patient safety, teamwork, nursing & medical workforce sustainability, retention strategies and staffing models

Health Policy – to understand how existing policies, regulations, laws, and practices may influence the uptake of child health-related evidence-based practices and programs.

De-implementation: To identify and inform de-implementation of potentially harmful practices and interventions, or those that are costly, less effective, or not proven to be effective compared to other available alternative practices.

Behavioral science – to understand the degree of knowledge, attitudes, practices, and motivations of both implementers and recipients and how they influence the implementation outcomes of evidence-based interventions, practices, or programs. As well as the use of implementation frameworks, and models to identify or design strategies aimed at improving knowledge, attitudes, practices, motivations

My research questions:
1. What practices and interventions, or programs have been proven to be effective in reducing, and preventing child morbidity and mortality (pre-term babies, neonates & under-five children)?
2. What contextual factors contribute to the success or failure of these identified programs in achieving practices to produce intervention scans we improve and accelerate the uptake and implementation of child health programs in real-world settings?
3. How might existing policies affect the implementation of evidence-based practices, programs
5. What are the and Capacity building and training opportunities for implementation science in child health nursing
Accelerating the uptake of child health-related evidence-based practices to real-world settings
