Abstract
A high resolution liquid level monitoring device using pulsating sensor based instrument is presented. The technique involves precise measurement of hydrostatic pressure exerted by the process liquid using a high sensitive pulsating type differential pressure sensor and correlating it to the liquid level. A digital approach has been explored to monitor the liquid level in a reservoir, sensitively up to 1 m range with an accuracy of similar to 1 %. The measurement system resembles conventional bubbler method, but the process of bubbling is totally avoided and makes the method easy deployable. A prototype level measurement system is designed for 1 meter tank and tested for its performance.
